Dove si trova il vero Eden? La risposta spiazzante di Esodo 40
The final destination of Israel's journey is not a geographical coordinate, but the rediscovery of a presence that inhabits the imperfection of the desert. In the final chapter of Exodus, the construction of the Tabernacle (the Tent of Meeting) reveals that true paradise does not coincide with the well-being of the Promised Land, but with the Dwelling of a God who chooses to walk alongside his people. In this video, we explore the extraordinary theological paradox of Exodus 40 through a dense network of textual parallels, mystical insights, and philosophical resonances: The Tent as New Creation: The priestly scribes drafted the final chapter of Exodus using the same structure, numerology, and vocabulary as Genesis. You will discover how Moses' gestures in completing, seeing, blessing, and sanctifying the Tabernacle mirror God's creative work in the first two chapters of the Bible to a tee. The tent is a microcosm, an Eden recreated in the middle of the desert. The paradox of the desert: In biblical thought, the desert flourishes and transforms into paradise because it is there that God walks with man. The Land flowing with milk and honey fades into the background: for the authors of Exodus, the journey and the search for God's presence are infinitely more important than the destination itself. The paschal logic of the fall: Just as the fall of our first parents in Genesis conceals a promise of salvation, so the sin of the golden calf in Exodus becomes the opportunity to reveal a divine mercy and faithfulness immeasurably greater than human frailty and failure. The evolution of the "Dwelling" throughout history: Let us retrace the spiritual legacy of the Tabernacle in the great philosophical and theological traditions: The Platonic reading of *Philo of Alexandria*, who sees in the tent the invisible metaphysical truths of divinity. The reflection of the rabbis after the destruction of the Temple in 70 AD, in which the Tabernacle is sublimated as an image of the cosmos, transforming daily life in the world into true liturgy. The Christian theology of the Incarnation (from the Gospel of John to the Letter to the Hebrews), in which the definitive Mishkan is Christ himself, the Word who "pitched his tent" among us. The mysticism of the infinite ascent of *Gregory of Nyssa*, who interprets Moses' inability to enter the tent invaded by the cloud as the soul's eternal experience (epectasis) in the face of the unknowability and infinity of God's apophatic mystery. The end of the Exodus is not a static conclusion, but the beginning of a continuous journey that calls us to make room for the darkness of the mystery and the responsibility of faith.
