The 2026 4Runner TRD Off-Road Has Crawl Control, Locking Diff & Bilstein Shocks

What’s up everyone — this is Lorenzo Burke from Brewer Airport Toyota, and today I’m reviewing the 2026 Toyota 4Runner TRD Off-Road. This one is finished in Underground with a Black and Boulder fabric interior and comes equipped with door-edge guards, mudguards, all-weather floor liners, an all-weather cargo mat, fixed running boards, black roof rails, and more. In this review, I go over the exterior, interior, turbocharged powertrain, part-time 4WD system, off-road equipment, technology, comfort, safety features, cargo area, and then take it out for a short drive. The 2026 4Runner TRD Off-Road comes with Toyota’s 2.4L turbocharged i-FORCE four-cylinder engine, producing 278 horsepower and 317 lb.-ft. of torque. It is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and part-time 4WD with a two-speed transfer case, Active Traction Control, and an electronically locking rear differential. The TRD Off-Road also includes Bilstein monotube shock absorbers, Multi-Terrain Select, Crawl Control, Downhill Assist Control, front and rear recovery points, skid-plate protection, 18-inch TRD alloy wheels, and an integrated towing receiver with four-pin and seven-pin wiring connections. Inside, you get heated fabric-trimmed front seats, a heated leather-trimmed steering wheel, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, an 8-inch Toyota Audio Multimedia display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless phone charging, five USB-C ports, and two 120-volt power outlets. Fuel economy is rated at 21 MPG combined, with 19 city and 25 highway.
