Easter Sunday 2026 marked a historic moment in Ijesaland as His Imperial Majesty Owa Clement Adesuyi Haastrup, Ajimoko III, officially inaugurated the Obokungbusi Hall of Fame, celebrating the outstanding achievements of Ijesa sons and daughters whose dedication, talent, and investments have shaped the kingdom and inspired generations. Inaugural inductees included: 🎵 Legendary musician I.K. Dairo – MBE recipient 🎶 Prince Abiodun Lufadeju – Composer of the Ijesa anthem 🏭 Late Dr. Lawrence Omole – Founder of International Breweries, Imo Ilesa 🌾 Pa Folorunso Awomolo – Founder of Imo Hills Farm, creating employment for Ijesa people 🏢 Dame Eunice Olayinka Obaleye, MON, KJW JP – Founder of Yinka Oba Foam & benefactor of Wesley Guild Hospital The Hall of Fame also recognised historical icons like Nigeria’s first lawyer Alexander Sapara Williams, CMG, and pioneering physician Oguntola Odunbaku, CMG, cementing their legacies in law and medicine.
