Israel affirms that its military operations in Lebanon were in response to threats from armed groups, particularly Hezbollah, and declares that it has no territorial ambitions in Lebanon. 5. Both parties affirm that nothing in this context prevents them from exercising their right to self-defense in accordance with the UN Charter and international law, provided that no third party exercises this right on their behalf. 6.
