The Fragas do Eume belongs to the municipalities of Pontedeume, Cabanas, Monfero, A Capela and As Pontes de García Rodríguez. It has an area of ​​about 9,000 hectares, the second largest in Galicia after the Xurés Natural Park and is named after the Eume River that runs through the park, forming important canyons and with a length of about 100 km.
