Forgotten Osmond Brother
Tom and Virl Osmond were with hearing disabilities. Their younger brothers originally conceived the musical group in part to support Tom and Virl in purchasing hearing aids. Tom and Virl eventually learned how to play several instruments and in later years made occasional appearances with their brothers and sister, most notably the Christmas specials during the 1970s and early 1980s. Both brothers became the inspiration for the Children's Miracle Network. I produced this story originally for KTVX Channel Four in the Salt Lake City Market. Family history is happening everywhere, everyday. KINTV is our way of connecting to family in the past and in the present and to seek stories worthy of movie making. Everyone has a story and everyone has a movie within them. We ask the question: "What's Your Movie About?" The opening series of episodes of KINTV is to establish who we are and later solicit family KIN stories for movie making and the third phase of KINTV is KIN the Television show where a profession film crew will re-create a family legacy story with actual descendants as the primary actors.
