As the second-busiest airport in the United Kingdom after Heathrow, Gatwick plays a key role in connecting London to destinations across Europe, North America, the Middle East, and beyond. The airport lies approximately 45 kilometers (about 28 miles) from Central London and serves as a vital component of the region’s air travel infrastructure. Gatwick features one runway. This single-runway operation is among the busiest of its kind in the world, supporting efficient movements through meticulous scheduling and coordination. Pre-pandemic, the airport handled over 46 million passengers annually, placing it among Europe’s top ten airports by passenger numbers. I filmed this video with the goal of showing aviation enthusiasts or people with a general interest in watching planes what you can see in Gatwick. Most people can’t travel around the world for a hobby and those who can’t don’t get to see what can be filmed at LGW.
