This is War - Power Rangers Time Force [extended version]

It was also the only season of the franchise to feature a Golden Globe winning actor in a lead role (Edward Laurence Albert as Mr. Collins). Daniel Southworth further garnered a Screen Actors Guild nomination for his role as Eric Meyers/Quantum Ranger. Season summary: In the year 3000, an elite crime fighting unit known as Time Force hunts down the Earth's last known mutant fugitive, Ransik, who has made plans to travel back in time and conquer a past era. He is apprehended by Alex Drake, a Red Ranger, and member of Time Force. Time Force assigns Alex's fiancé, operative Jennifer "Jen" Scotts, to transport Ransik to the cryo-prison, along with her teammates Katie Walker, Lucas Kendall, and Trip, a being from the planet Xybria. On their way, Ransik's daughter Nadira and robot villian Frax ambush the operatives, helping Ransik escape. The three villains attack the cryo- prison and jump back in time, taking with them several cryogenically frozen criminals. Before doing so, Alex tries to stop Ransik and is killed as Jen's team arrives on the scene. A dying Alex hands Jen his morpher and makes her promise to capture Ransik. Jen, Katie, Lucas, and Trip take the remaining ranger morphers and follow Ransik to the year 2001. They land in Silver Hills, Washington and run into Wes Collins, the son of a billionaire. He is the only civilian who can activate Alex's morpher to become the new Red Ranger. With Wes, the team becomes Power Rangers Time Force and combats Ransik's army of criminals. They must protect the future and prevent disturbances to the time stream. Wes acclimates the four Time Force operatives to the 21st Century. He finds an abandoned clock tower for their new residency and base of operations. Having a strained relationship with his father, Wes eventually moves in with the other rangers. He begins to have feelings for Jen. Meanwhile, an archaeological dig unearths a powerful artifact - the Quantum morpher. It eventually falls into the hands of Eric, Wes' former classmate and nemesis. Eric becomes the Quantum Ranger, but refuses to work with the Time Force Rangers. Instead, Wes' father hires Eric to lead his private mercenary enterprise, the Silver Guardians. The Rangers are nearly done capturing all of Ransik's criminals when Alex suddenly shows up in the year 2001. He survived Ransik's attack and wants to reclaim his role as the Red Ranger. The Rangers, however, favor Wes over an overbearing Alex. When Ransik raids Mr. Collins' firm, Collins reveals that he is proud of Wes for choosing his own destiny as a ranger instead of inheriting the firm. Ransik sends Collins to the hospital, where he dies, only to be revived by Alex and a life-giving orb from the future. Mr. Collins and Wes reconcile. Alex yields his powers and returns to the year 3000, as the Rangers' right-hand man. Jen's love for Alex dwindles and she realizes her feelings for Wes. After Ransik's constant abuse of robots, Frax has planned to double-cross Ransik. However, Ransik is too powerful for Frax and reprograms him to work for mutants. After helping to deliver a baby, Nadira has a change of heart, and wants to reconcile humans, robots, and mutants. The final battle quickly approaches and Alex prophesies that none of the Rangers survive the attack. Alex commands that the four Time Force operatives return to the future. He has no solution for Wes to escape. When Jen, Katie, Lucas, and Trip refuse to return, Wes tricks them into Alex's time ship and sends them home, prepared to sacrifice himself for the city. In battle, Eric and Wes finally put aside their differences to save Silver Hills. When the Time Force operatives return to the year 3000, Alex tells them that it is Time Force's standard procedure to erase people's memories after they've traveled through time. The rangers learn that Wes saves the city, but perishes in battle. As Alex prepares to erase the operatives' memory, Jen storms out of the Memory Adaption cell and insists on fighting alongside Wes. Katie, Lucas, and Trip agree. When Jen returns Alex her engagement ring, Alex can't help but to let the Time Force operatives go. The Time Force rangers return to the year 2001 for a vicious battle with Ransik. In his rage for mutant domination, Ransik accidentally mutilates Nadira. He is overcome with remorse and surrenders to Time Force.
