words of appreciation: "dear owen, i know you and i have never met each other before but, i made this mini-docu just for you. owen, you have absolutely changed the way i look at life and percept the fundamentals of what it means to be a human. my inner gratitude for you is so big but yet, i still struggle with not knowing what is appropriate to bring up to you. this isn't me trying to view you as my savior or thoroughly develop some kind of weird parasocial relationship but i just want to thank you again, for everything. love, josh." to the tinkham family: "if you wish for this video to be taken down, then i'll absolutely do so in a heartbeat. i do not condone making a mockery off of a deceased human being, and i certainly also don't condone profiting off of them either." background: i've been working on this project since december of last year and let you tell ya, it has been a inconsistent rollercoaster. too many versions, too many drafts, and quite frankly... too much disinterest. over the past six-months-and-a half i have been trying my hardest to get this thing put out there sooner but just couldn't get myself to so. so i tossed it off to the side and started working on other projects, those went well but they didn't measure up to how deeply personal this particular story was to me. after screening a shorter-version of the documentary at my high school, i decided to close this piece for good and finish it... but then i gave up on it again, struggling to figure what i could possibly talk about that would give it it's own voice without trying to sound gross, it took me a while to get to the place where i wanted to be. i made it happen. for the past two days, i have been going hard on work to get this done and... mission completed. + it's fitting knowing that today is owen's 25th birthday, and to that i say: "happy birthday, owen, and i pray that you're doing okay for yourself up there in the clouds. my respect for you does not plan on going away any time soon, and with that, i'll be setting the sail for my life to continue going up from here and i will greatly tag you along for the journey in my heart." ‪@MrFireball‬
