Garda Trentino Trail Extra 100k | Race Report

A self-navigated 100K with 7,000m of vert, two and a half aid stations, wild boar, and… accidentally cancelling the 25K race start?! The first-ever Garda Trentino Trail 100k — one of the most surprising and spectacular races I’ve done. A great race to get the mountain legs working to kick off the season. Set in Arco, just above Lake Garda, this course was raw and rugged: steep climbs, starry skies, insane descents, and constant navigation checks. This is the full journey, from nearly missing the start to getting lost in tunnels, to an unforgettable finish line moment I definitely didn’t expect. 📍 Location: Arco, Northeast Italy 🏃‍♂️ Course: 100km & 7,000m 🌿 Terrain: Forest, rocky 🌡️ Conditions: Modest temps 🦗 Hazards: Wild boar, cliffs 🎉 Highlight: Accidentally delaying the 25K start and getting the loudest finish line crowd of my life. 📹 Watch more trail running adventures, ultra marathons, and race breakdowns here: 👉 / @galenrun 🔔 Subscribe for: UTMB training, mountain ultramarathons, race-day strategies, and behind-the-scenes running travel content. #GardaTrentinoTrail #Ultrarunning #TrailRunning #GalenRun 00:00 – Intro & Arco pre-race logistics 02:30 – Almost missing the start procession 04:10 – Wrong turn within 200 meters 06:00 – Night climbs, concerts, and boars 10:00 – Tunnel navigation disaster 13:00 – The climbs that made it worth it 16:30 – The final push & chasing sub-14 hours 18:45 – Accidentally halting the 25K start 😅 20:00 – Post-race vibes & town tour
