Rwanda innovators develop electric farm tractors
Have you ever wondered why electric farm tractors are still rare, even as electric cars and motorbikes become increasingly common? In Rwanda, that question is being answered through trials of some of the world’s first fully electric farming tractors. While the innovation promises to bring down farming costs and boost productivity, a major hurdle remains: developing a powerful battery that can keep the tractors running for up to nine hours. Willy Lusige visited Rwanda and filed the following report.
