We welcomed Claudia Piñeiro to discuss her latest novel, "The Curses," which tells the story of a young man who enters the world of politics for the wrong reasons and must face the dramatic consequences. The story takes place in the Province of Buenos Aires, where the author has lived her entire life. Román Sabaté enters the world of politics almost by chance, but it is there that his fate is sealed. The constant tension between a young man from the provinces' need for work and the hidden intentions of the politician who has chosen him as his private secretary is what drives this novel: two men in conflict in a story where even fatherhood is at stake. Magic, double standards, or crime—anything goes. "The Curses" exposes the truth of the so-called "new politics," based on absolute pragmatism that masks the unscrupulousness of deceit and boundless ambition.
