This time, I went searching for Showa-era retro items in Ome. Last time in Odaiba, I saw the Showa era as it was created to be enjoyed as a tourist attraction. Odaiba's Showa era was bright, easy to understand, and a Showa era you could go to for fun. So, what about Ome's Showa era? This time, it's not a train journey, but a walk around the town of Ome. I walked around Ome Station, looked around the station a bit, and then proceeded along Koshu Kaido to the Showa Retro Goods Museum. Inside the museum, I carefully examined old product packaging, household goods, signs, and more. If Odaiba's Showa era is "Showa to play with," Ome's Showa era is "Showa to search for." Walking around, searching for Showa retro items subtly mixed into the town, I felt a completely different atmosphere from Odaiba, even though it's still in Tokyo. It's not flashy sightseeing, but a walk like this, picking up the atmosphere of the town, is quite interesting. Please read to the end.
