I awake to a dream, a dream meandering through the parched earth with no oxbow lakes to short circuit the ride, giving one ample opportunity to enjoy the scenery without any short cuts, giving more time to breath in the fresh warm cold air of spring, more time to see the sun rising like a bridegroom out of his chamber, and hear the sound of birds chirping, those who have awoken to their long cold winter nights to a dawn of preceding summers days: to days where green blades of grass break through parched, scorched earth to carpet the fields with a lighter hue. And new life growing where the fire scorched the earth, and new life come where is was barren, like a falcon rising from the ashes the wilted flowers sprout again.
