Welcome to the channel of the National Police Unit. Colleagues from the Special Traffic Tasks Team of the Central Netherlands Unit received a report of a theft. They soon encountered the vehicle, which refused to stop at the stop sign. A multi-unit chase ensued. Later, units from the INFRA (Infrastructure and Infrastructure) department joined the pursuit and forced the suspect to stop. The police Arrest and Support Teams are part of this service. They intervene when there are reasonable grounds to believe that circumstances are life-threatening to the police or others. Specialist Operations Department The Specialist Operations Department provides operational support and high-quality (technological) innovation to the Dutch police. This includes shielded operations such as covert operations and witness protection, tapping phones, and the use of mounted vehicles, tracking devices, and specialized animals. The National Forensic Service Center is also part of this department. National Criminal Investigation Department The National Criminal Investigation Department combats serious and organized crime, as well as specific phenomena such as child pornography, environmental crime, terrorism, and high-tech crime. Furthermore, the department is the official national investigative authority when Dutch citizens—or Dutch property outside our borders—are involved in or targeted by attacks or serious, organized crime activities. Royal and Diplomatic Protection Department The police guard and protect individuals, objects, and services at the national, regional, and local levels. These security measures are well-coordinated. As the threat increases or the security task becomes more complex, the number of measures to be taken increases. In such situations, the Royal and Diplomatic Protection Service takes on a more prominent role and provides support with specific expertise and special deployment resources. The service does this in close cooperation with the National Coordinator for Counterterrorism and Security and the Public Prosecution Service. Infrastructure Service The Infrastructure Service combats insecurity and crime on the Dutch main infrastructure: on the highway, water, rail, and aviation. The service also provides air support to enhance the effectiveness of the police. National Operations Center The Operations Center is the heart of all current operations and ensures overview and coherence. To this end, the Operations Center has a permanent, complete and up-to-date operational picture: what is happening in society and what people and resources does the police have available? This allows the Operations Center to make adjustments as needed and tailor the police's effectiveness to the current security situation. National Information Organization Service The National Information Organization Service performs specific national tasks such as international information exchange and national information coordination. The service also provides an overview and insight into the (inter)national security situation for operational police work. Furthermore, the service acts as a point of contact within the police force for agencies such as Europol, Interpol, and Dutch liaison officers working abroad on behalf of the police. #POLICE #Utrecht #TBV
