1969 Oceanic Cruise New York City to Bahamas ~ Nassau & Freeport. Life on Deck, Hat Competition.
A glimpse of life at sea in the late 1960s on-board the famous Home Lines S.S. Oceanic on a Bahamas cruise to both Freeport and Nassau. Great departure from New York City, deck shots, tug boat, views of the Manhattan skyline and the West Side Piers. Cruising at sea with lots of time on deck - dolphins, time at the pool and inside a cabin. At Freeport, great view of the ship from the tender, some shopping and a stop and swim at Kings Inn Hotel (The Bahamas Princess) At Nassau, a passing view of S.S. Flavia from the tender, a walk around the city and a stop at Paradise Beach. Back at the ship, a very inventive hat competition is held by the pool - I hope the gentleman stretching his wife's bra won! Heading home, a shot inside the lounge is followed by a walk around the decks on an overcast day. Archived
