About Memhir Asres Tesema (1934-2015): Memhir Asres Tesema was a multi-talented pioneer—a teacher, accordionist, writer, poet, journalist, and a guardian of the Tigrinya language and cultural heritage. As a founding member and backbone of the Asmara Theatre Association (Ma.T.A), he left an indelible mark on the development of Eritrean performing arts. Among his most iconic works are the legendary song "Eti Gezana Abi Hidmo" and 13 published books.
