Sweet 16 For Autistic Teenager

It's an internal struggle. How much of what we do as parents for our children is really for them? Ready for another trip inside my brain? Birthday parties and celebrations... It's not for our benefit but how much of it is because that's what others do, or what is expected, or what you imagined a Sweet 16 Birthday would look like? We also don't want to just be in the mindset of, "well, she's autistic and developmentally delayed so does she really care?". I think she cares. I know she LOVES parties, she loves being pampered, she loves attention, she loves music, she loves gifts, and she loves cake. All those things together add up to a sweet sixteen birthday party...so yeah, it's for her 100%.
