At @fadein-fadeout, we analyzed A Very Improbable Goalkeeper, a film that combines soccer, Mexican independent cinema, and a message about the autism spectrum… but ends up being one of the strangest sports movies I've seen in a long time. Between poorly filmed matches, stiff acting, an amateurish script, and an invincible goalkeeper, this film constantly stumbles as a cinematic product. And yet, behind all its technical problems, it manages to convey something genuine about empathy, inclusion, and perseverance. A film with a lot of heart… and very little technique.
