Swanage Railway Diesel Gala Convoys 2026 (Inbound)

A compilation of all inbound movements for Swanage Railway's 2026 Diesel Gala & Beer Festival. These movements are: 06/05 - 0Z40 Orton Mere to Swanage (Operated by West Coast Railways) 07/05 - 5Z37 Eastleigh Works Gbrf to Swanage (Operated by GB Railfreight) 07/05 - 0Z33 Southall Wcr to Swanage (Operated by West Coast Railways) 0Z40 ran on Wednesday 6th May and consisted of 37607, 58023 'Leicester Depot', 20066 & 26007. It was a VSTP path that replaced the identical path of 0Z39, but was capped between Orton Mere and Peterborough as there was no need to go to the Nene Valley Railway to pick up the troubled 45041 'Royal Tank Regiment'. It formed from 0Z38 from Loughborough Brush where it picked up the freshly repainted 58, and prior to that, 0Z37 from Barrow Hill L.I.P. where the convoy started with just the three locos. The move started at Peterborough running 38 minutes late, becoming 4 minutes early passing Wareham at 2217, and arrived into Swanage at 2306, still 4 early. 5Z37 ran on Thursday 7th May and consisted of 99004, London Transport Museum's 4TC unit, & 73141 'Spa Valley Railway 25 Year Anniversary'. It formed from 0Z73 Tonbridge West Yard Gbrf to Eastleigh East Yard, where it shunted into the works to bring the 4TC into Eastleigh East Yard. 99004 formed from 0Z47 Leicester L.I.P. to Eastleigh East Yard, and took the convoy the whole way to Swanage from there. The move left Eastleigh 29 minutes early, reaching a peak of 38 minutes early through Totton, and leaving Wareham at 1730, 14 minutes earlier than booked. It was due to arrive at Swanage at 1918. 0Z33 was a VSTP pathing as well, as due to 45041 no longer being able to attend, 33025 was subsequently announced for the gala and dispatched from Southall on Thursday 7th May. The loco started from Southall at 2010, leaving Wareham at 2250 (30 minutes early), and being due into Swanage at 0010 of day one of the gala.
