400 Jahre Rechenmaschine
Mathematikum founder Prof. Dr. Albrecht Beutelspacher, together with HNF Managing Director Dr. Jochen Viehoff, presents Wilhelm Schickard's calculating machine, which he described in a letter to Johannes Kepler on September 20, 1623. The machine is based on the principle of Nepier's rods and is suitable for all four basic arithmetic operations. It was the world's first mechanical calculating machine. A fully functional replica is housed at the HNF. ______ Don't want to miss any videos?
