Одесса, 1972 Odessa in 1972 Here I present a a seres of photographs of the great seaport of Odessa on the Black Sea coast. Today the city is a major seaport and transportation hub for Ukraine. When these photographs were taken the city was in the Soviet Union. The city was founded by a decree of the Empress Catherine the Great in 1794. During the Soviet period it was the most important port of trade in the USSR and also a major naval base........ Music by Tatiana Burtseva
