How can chance be used in the creation of works of art? How can we cope with unforeseen events and what attitude should we adopt when they occur? The painter Silvère Jarrosson explains how the relationship between artists and chance has become a key to understanding contemporary art and a driving force of creativity. A graduate of the Paris Opera Ballet School, a serious injury forced Silvère Jarrosson to permanently abandon his dancing career. Despite lasting physical aftereffects, he did not give up on dance: in painting, he found another way to express himself through the body. Following a master's degree in biology from the National Museum of Natural History in Paris, he deliberately situates his work at the crossroads of various artistic and scientific disciplines, all concerned with the emergence of chance.
