BenQ SW270c Review - (and how it works for colour grading in DaVinci Resolve)

BenQ got in touch and asked if I'd like to try their new SW270c 'Photographers Monitor' and maybe do a review. Even though I don't know a whole lot about monitors and I felt happy enough with the iMac Pro screen, I accepted the challenge and said I'd try it out. Being a self taught filmmaker, there are areas of the business that I've yet to immerse myself in and dare I say, colour science and indeed colour spaces are not my forte so this is a fairly 'hands on' look at the monitor. For a while now I've been curious as to how a second calibrated monitor would work for me and I have to say that it's been a great addition to my desk space. The main advantage for me is having a full screen uninterrupted preview of the edit I'm working on. In DaVinci Resolve, I often tend to work on just a small portion of the screen and rarely do I preview it in full screen. As a result there are times when I bounce out the grade and see issues with the rendered video that I didn't spot in the edit or colour grade window. The monitor has been great for this. The BenQ SW270c is reasonably priced and is an ideal accompaniment to someone in the photography, video, design or motion graphics business. I'd recommend it as it'll give decent results and won't break the bank. Feel free to like and join in the discussion below with your comments.
