2009 VW Jetta Heater Blower Testing and Replacement With Blower Resistor.
This Jetta was brought in for a number of problems including the heater fan only running on high speed. The blower resistor internal thermal fuse has failed. Tested heater blower current at 24-25 amps. Also found the cabin filter plugged. Replaced the resistor, blower motor and cabin filter and retested the blower current on high. Now measures 19-20amps. It has been my experience the typical blower current usually does not exceed 50% of the fuse rating on high with the engine running.
