Ryugin Dharma Talk "Failing Better," May 29, 2025
In this talk, senior student Ryugin invites us to embrace our mistakes as a gateway to insight and transformation. He uses the koan “Fayan Points to a Blind” as a mirror for examining our tendency to grasp at gain and recoil from loss. Turning to Dogen’s “Continuous Practice,” he emphasizes that practice is grounded not in perfection but in the willingness to meet life as it is.
