“Free-range children” is what my father used to call un-parented children. The kind where the door is opened in the morning for them to get out, and the door is closed in the evening when they have “ducked” in. You can easily raise free range children if you are not careful. Taking stock of your child’s growth is one way in which you pay careful attention to the condition of your flock!
