Simple & Pure Plain Soap | Unscented Cold Process Soap with Shea Butter
Welcome to the very first video in my Simple & Pure: Plain Soap Series! In this episode, I'm making a beautiful plain, unscented cold process soap using a balanced blend of unrefined shea butter, rice bran oil, sunflower oil, coconut oil. No fragrance. No unnecessary extras. Just a simple, thoughtfully formulated bar of handmade soap. This series celebrates minimalist soap making by highlighting one featured ingredient at a time while using the same signature base recipe. Whether you're a fellow soap maker or simply enjoy watching the creative process, I hope you'll enjoy following along. Soap Tip Professional soap recipes are often created using percentages instead of fixed weights. Once the formula is balanced, a soap calculator converts those percentages into the exact amounts needed for any batch size, making recipes easy to scale up or down while keeping the same formulation. If you enjoy artisan soap making, natural ingredients, and simple, elegant soap designs, don't forget to subscribe for more videos in the Plain Soap Series. #PlainSoap #SimpleAndPure #UnscentedSoap #ColdProcessSoap #SoapMaking #HandmadeSoap #NaturalSoap #SheaButterSoap #ArtisanSoap #MinimalistSoap #SoapRecipe #QualityShea #SoapMakingSeries Where to purchase https://nasabb.com/ https://www.etsy.com/shop/qualityshea... Kaolin clay can be dispersed in a small amount of oil or water before adding it to your soap batter. 💡 Tip: These are general starting guidelines. Different recipes behave differently, so make small adjustments as you gain experience. Avoid adding excessive amounts of additives, as they can affect trace, texture, hardness, and the overall performance of your soap. Important: This is a beginner-friendly sample formula created for learning and practice. Always run your recipe through a reliable soap recipe calculator to determine the correct lye and water amounts for your chosen batch size, lye concentration, and superfat before making soap. 0:00 - Melting butters and oils 0:15 - Adding Kaolin clay for a silky feel 0:34 - Preparing salt and sugar water 0:44 - Adding the lye solution 0:55 - Benefits of salt and sugar in soap 1:15 - Mixing techniques: Stick blender vs. spatula 1:43 - Monitoring temperature and insulation tips 2:50 - Unmolding and cutting the soap (18 hours later) 3:08 - Wrap up and future lather test
