This time, I'll be taking a train to northern Russia and heading to the largest city in the Arctic Circle, Murmansk. Since I'm located in Saint Petersburg, I'll be traveling there by train for 26 hours via the Kirov Railway. There are two trains daily serving the Saint Petersburg-Murmansk round-trip route, with the Saint Petersburg stopover at Ladozhskiy Station. One of the trains to Murmansk is the Arctic Train. This train is one of Russia's branded trains. So, what's the difference? Branded trains typically offer different services than other trains and serve unique routes in Russia. I got a ticket for around 28,000 Rupiah for two people, or around 5.7 million Rupiah, for the trip from Saint Petersburg to Murmansk. Murmansk itself is located in the Arctic Circle, indicating its proximity to the North Pole. The city is also a popular tourist destination in Russia for viewing the natural phenomenon of the Aurora Borealis.
