The AKSU, AK74U, or simply Ksyukha, the dream of many conscripts, is the shortest Kalashnikov assault rifle. In fact, it's one of the shortest assault rifles in the world, chambered for intermediate cartridges. It was designed as a weapon for Soviet paratroopers! This particular rifle was used by Airborne Forces soldiers – the Airborne Forces were among those most interested in compact weapons.
