Manonmaniam- Drama “மனோன்மணியம்”

Our Library Mother Valliammai Subramaniam, first acted in “Manonmaniam” when she was just 7 years old as a student of her school J/Pannaagam Maha Vidyalam . That experience stayed in her heart throughout her life.Even at the age of 85, her love for the play remained strong. She typed the entire drama in her own dialogue style and saved it on her iPad as a complete manuscript. During the 100 celebration of the school where she studied, the K.A.S. Sathiamanai Library (எங்க) proudly published her edition of Manonmaniam. This famous drama includes “நீராறும் கடலுடத்த …”, the song that is now sung as the தமிழ்தாய் வாழ்த்து . As a tribute to her contribution, the same school performed Manonmaniam on the 1வது anniversary of her passing. It was a meaningful way of honouring one of its former students and remembering her lifelong love for Tamil language, literature, and drama.
