Heritage USA / PTL in June 1988 Vid #4

Starts at the top of the Raging Canyons ride, which was still being worked on in preparation for the upcoming opening day on July 4th weekend, 1988. At :26 I caught a brief glimpse of the tall drop water slides, but did not go up to record it. Back down at the base of the park, I'll mention a couple things that I DID see on my recent June 2009 trip to the site. Very briefly, at 4:15 in the video, standing upright right next to a grey pick up truck is a stone statue of a sea horse. If this was the only such statue on Heritage Island, then it is still ON the island, because I saw such a sea horse sitting upright in tthe weeds where the water park used to sit in June 2009. It's visible again, briefly, at 4:56. At 5:36 in the video, in the upper left corner of the screen are three tropical hut-styled structures. I am certain these were used for small tropical-island-themed festivals and small concerts & productions. They looked like floating stages, and were at the outer edge of the water park, floating on water, I believe. I believe the biggest of the three stages, in the center, is still floating on the lake, very close to where the chalets & cabins are. It appear to be used as a fishing dock now. At 5:41 are visible a couple lamp posts, and aside from the sea horse, the only other recognizeable things on the barren landscape where the water park once was are a few upright lamp posts. Wires are running along the ground from the TV truck to the video cameras nearby, ready for the telecast from the water park later on that morning. I was actually in the audience for the telecast, and, sure enough, there were people singing in front of the cameras in front of the water park.
