Barbasetti, Ch. 3, Extended Parries Drill
This video explores a basic progressive drill using the extended parries. Initially, I attack, Juliet defends and ripostes, and it builds from there. We fight as we drill, and so to the degree possible most drills we use end up looking like snapshots of a bout. 1) Juliet, from 2nd, initiates an attack via beat by a molinello through 1st to the head 2) same, but Jim parries 5th and ripostes via molinello to the head (can also go to inside cheek) 3a) same 1 & 2, but Juliet makes a counter-parry riposte 3b) same, but knowing Jim will parry 5th, feints to the head on the advance, then lunges the attack to the chest via banderole cut; to chest via thrust in 2nd; to flank (in each case she wants to recover under cover)
