Distribution Network Operators, or DNOs, look after local or regional electricity supply. They are licensed to distribute electricity to our homes, via towers, poles, cables and meters that they operate. Before December 1990, they were public bodies, with some responsibility for supply as well as distribution - but today, they do so much more than that! So how do they work?
