Chapter 2 Problems
This lecture covers selected problems from Chapter 2 based on Demidenko’s examples on probability distributions and stochastic processes. The discussion focuses on five examples only: "safe turn waiting time", "bathroom break and Poisson arrivals", "earthquake occurrence modeling", "the relationship between Gamma and Poisson distributions", and the "You are fired" Poisson process problem. The lecture also demonstrates the use of R simulations, probability calculations, exponential and Gamma distributions, and graphical interpretations of stochastic models.
