Class 73 73109 Rescues Stranded EMUs Frozen 3rd Rail | Cosham | 19th December 1999

Sunday 19th December 1999 - Two 750v DC third rail EMUs, A 4 CEP Class 411 and 4 CIG Class 421, find themselves stuck without power around 1/4 mile West of Cosham due to severe wintry weather freezing the third rail to the point that no power could be drawn from it. The information at the station advised that there were no trains running at that time as three trains had failed in the area and all services are at stand!
