Tips for Mallet Perms (Broccoli) - Vibraphone - Marimba
I'm uploading old videos from "back in the day." This one I was talking about broccoli patterns and how when the pattern changes each mallet plays one sixteenth sooner. You can practice the check pattern of that transition (like I do at :57 ). I also go over the possibility of loosening up the hands and treating all the strokes like legatos instead of tightly crushing the notes into the keyboard. With an email subscription you can get a PDF of the "one sixteenth note sooner" explained on paper. It shows how to practice the LH alone as "check pattern" to be more consistent with the one hand. https://gestalt-music-studio.kit.com/... ---- Want to see more of my work? www.gestaltmusicstudio.com
