I went to Wakkanai, the northernmost city. Accommodation in Wakkanai is on the pricey side, but I'd like to introduce Hotel Miyuki, a rare, reasonably priced option. Although I say reasonable, it's only 9,900 yen per night for a room only stay, and this price applies to bookings made two months in advance rather than last minute. There is no large public bath. From the window in the hallway, you can see the North Breakwater Dome, which gives you a real sense of the choppy sea and windy nature of this city. The room was very comfortable.
