Syba SATA + PATA PCI Raid Controller Card Unboxing, Overview, Test (SD-VIA-1A2S)
Today I am going to unbox and take a look at the Syba SATA/PATA card I bought of Amazon for $11. I needed a cheap SATA card for an upcoming experiment and this fit my needs and my budget. The Amazon Product page is slightly misleading, the card is advertised as SATA II but is only capable of achieving sub SATA I speeds. During this video I am going to unbox the card, hook it up to my SSD to test it out, and create a hardware RAID array. Overall I was happy with the card, it is a little on the sluggish side but it gets the job done.
