The Gecko Is Back! | David Reveals The Future Of This Mini-Based Icon

At the 2026 National Kit Car Show, I had the pleasure of spending some time with David from Gecko Cars Ltd to learn more about the return of one of the most distinctive Mini-based sports cars around – the Gecko. In this special Behind The Wheel episode, we take a closer look at the freshly overhauled Mini Gecko, discuss the history of the marque, the exciting plans for its future, and what prospective owners can expect from the next generation of cars. The Gecko featured in this video is powered by a classic 1275cc Mini engine, delivering the lightweight, go-kart-like driving experience that makes these cars so much fun. Looking ahead, future models are set to feature turbocharged Fiat 500 Abarth powerplants, promising performance that will turn these already exciting little cars into absolute missiles.
