Pokémon Stadium 2 Free Battle 13
Here are the team of Pokémon in this video, which was decided by the random number generator. P1 Team: Porygon, Metapod, Nidoqueen, Stantler, Noctowl, Kingler CPU Team: Diglett, Poliwrath, Exeggcute, Jynx, Sandslash, Horsea Then, I will list the moves for each Pokémon in battle, starting with my team. Porygon: Tri Attack, Blizzard, Sharpen, Conversion 2 Metapod: Harden Nidoqueen: Body Slam, Mud-Slap, Ice Punch, Toxic Stantler: Stomp, Dream Eater, Mud-Slap, Hypnosis Noctowl: Fly, Take Down, Confusion, Foresight Kingler: Crabhammer, ViceGrip, Guillotine, Leer The CPU's team of Pokémon and moves. Diglett: Earthquake, Slash, Fissure, Sand-Attack Poliwrath: DynamicPunch, Hydro Pump, DoubleSlap, Mind Reader Exeggcute: Psychic, Giga Drain, Stun Spore, Leech Seed Jynx: Ice Punch, Confusion, Lick, Mean Look Sandslash: Earthquake, Fury Swipes, Sand-Attack, Sandstorm Horsea: Hydro Pump, Blizzard, Rain Dance, SmokeScreen When I originally randomized the list, Poliwag was on the CPU team instead of Sandslash, but as I could not beat them, as there were three Water-type Pokémon, and I didn't have anything that could deal super effective damage against them, and it didn't help that Jynx was on the CPU side, which had the advantage over Nidoqueen, and I had a Metapod which couldn't do anything. I ended up using the random number generator to replace Poliwag with another Pokémon, and Sandslash was picked, which not only gives Kingler the type advantage, but it cannot do much against Noctowl. To go over Porygon's attacks, Conversion 2 is a new attack that was introduced in this generation, this move changes Porygon's type based on the last move it was hit by, for example, if it was hit by a Normal-type move, it would change its type to one that resists Normal-type moves, for example, Rock, Steel, or Ghost. I had Nidoqueen for the lead against Sandslash, and I had to make use of switching to get the advantage, Noctowl to avoid the Earthquake, and Kingler for the type matchup. Kingler does seem to be less effective in this game than in the first Pokémon Stadium game, because even with a lower Special Attack stat, Crabhammer did hit for good damage due to how critical hits worked in Generation 1 where it was based on Speed. There is also Diglett's Fissure to watch out for, and Diglett is very fast and will likely get that off before I can get off an attack, even though moves like Fissure is no longer based on if the Pokémon is faster and instead based on the Pokémon's level.
