Jax & The Fear of Being Known | The Amazing Digital Circus

Jax reminded me who I could have been, and how I was saved. Let's talk about it. The Amazing Digital Circus isn’t actually a show about mystery, despite all the theories trying to explain it. How or why are they trapped? It needs no explanation, because it’s a show about characters and their relationships; the plot is only to test their bonds. With this in mind, the most interesting character to analyze is Jax, because while everyone else comes together, Jax tries desperately to be alone. In simple terms, it could be discussed as a fear of intimacy, but the issue runs deeper. It’s a fear of being known because of how complicated being known makes life. However, one can’t exist without being known, even the act of avoiding intimacy says something about the person, as all of Jax’s behavior exist for this fear; hate them before they can hate you, try to make yourself shallow so they never look, embrace chaos to avoid patterns; but a pattern still forms. As Pomni enters The Amazing Digital Circus, we see the pattern started with Ribbit and Kaufmo begin to play out again, that even if one fears being known, they always will be. Now that we have episode 9 (the finale) of TADC, it’s time to analyze Jax, their relationship with Pomni, Ribbit, Gangle, and Zooble, and examine the desire to be hated.
