I'll be completely honest, I cried while watching this film 🙈 The last time I felt this way after editing a film was during Mevlüta and Corona Camp. Actually, I was crying and laughing at times! But let's start from the beginning. Deep in Africa, we had become a bit wild, often alone in the bush, in silence and with wild animals. Returning to the ocean, we were amazed by the number of people, traffic jams, noise, and parties. On the way, our blood pressure was first raised by a policeman who searched our Groszek and confiscated a few things. And then we decided to stop, intrigued by the white and red flags. Longing for Polish flavors, we were convinced we'd replenish our supplies with products that were hard to find in Gambian stores. We were delighted, but it turned out there was nothing to eat, and the owner was a Polish woman who had lived in Gambia for over 12 years! We quickly discovered that it was Ela, who runs the YouTube channel @kolorygambii. Many of our viewers wrote in the comments asking us to visit her. However, we don't usually invite ourselves over and hadn't planned such a visit. Truth be told, we hadn't watched her vlogs, and Ela hadn't watched ours. We were connected by the red and white Polish flag, which surprised us greatly on our way to the "smiling coast of Gambia." The beginning of our relationship was quite tense, especially since we were in the middle of recording a vlog. Then Ela pulled out hers, and I thought, embarrassed, "Oh my God, who would believe such a coincidence if we didn't believe it ourselves?" Then we put away the cameras and started talking. It turned out that we shared more than just Poland. Ela is a positively captivating woman with a heart of gold, a sense of humor, and a great sense of self-awareness about herself and the Africa where she lives. She told us about her daily life in Gambia, without sugarcoating. We like these kinds of freaks, with their own rules, so we accepted her invitation, first to her favorite beach, then to the Gambian school where she teaches, and even to church! And so our friendship with Ela developed, and we discovered new, previously unknown sides of Gambia, evoking the extreme emotions we show you in this film.
