#20 Louisiana Washboard Five (Norway) “Futuristic Rhythm” 2006 at Bude Jazz Festival

This young classic jazz band makes a welcome return following an enthusiastic reception in 2005. Formed in the late 1990s to play hot jazz from the late 1920s, the band has featured at Norway’s premier jazz festival, as well as at Keswick. University of Bergen Professor of Jazz Studies Steinar Saetre leads the band on reeds with Ketil Saethre on trumpet, Petter Bakke (banjo and guitar); Arnulf Rokke (tuba) and Rolf Seldal (washboard and drums). Special guests for ‘Futurestic Rhythm’ are Keith Nichols and Robert Fowler. (Hartland Hotel)
