Landscape near Toledo UNED on La 2 of TVE (Rebroadcast 11/20/2020 ─ 01/15/2021 ─ 01/21/2022 ─ 05/06/2023 -- 03/27/2026) Series: Art and Exhibitions Recording Date: 11/12/2020 The painting by Mexican artist Diego Rivera, “Landscape near Toledo,” from 1913, exemplifies the interest of artists, travelers, and writers in the scenic and monumental quality of the city of Toledo, declared a World Heritage Site in 1986. “Landscape near Toledo” is an important proto-Cubist work and a geography lesson set against a backdrop of great aesthetic quality and enormous cultural value.
