Le frelon asiatique, chronique d'une mort espérée | Documentaire CNRS

The Asian hornet (Vespa velutina nigrithorax), also known as the yellow-legged hornet, is an invasive predatory species that arrived in France around 2004 from China. Since then, it has colonized France and the rest of Europe. Eric Darrouzet, a biologist at IRBI and a specialist in this insect, explains its lifestyle and all the problems linked to its rapid expansion: environmental, public health, and economic issues. He also discusses his team's work developing trapping techniques to combat this predator (such as the pheromone-based selective trap). A shorter version of this film, "A Trap for the Asian Hornet," is available. Source of the film: https://videotheque.cnrs.fr/doc=4658 🔔 Subscribe to the @CNRS channel Follow us on social media!
