In just thirty seconds the surprises came to life and told their story, catapulting us in an instant to the tropical island of the Tartallegre or among the golden pyramids of the Miaogizi. Just like the surprise market, these short cartoons also lived two different lives, one limited to German television and one destined for Italian and international television. Referring in particular to the decade from 1991 to 2001, these cartoons were made in two versions: the first was directly drawn by the artist André Roche (historical author and designer of the tribes of animals that inaugurated the trend), the second by Italian designers and animation studios, such as the famous structure of Bruno Bozzetto. For this reason, for the same collection of surprises, there are animations with a totally different character design. The Italian animated commercial for Happypotami, for example, has a funny and chubby design (typical of Italian animated taste), while the German commercial faithfully reflects the original character design of the Happy Hippos. In turn, the Italian-produced animated commercials could be made in multiple versions, depending on the destination country and the year of publication of a particular collection of surprises. For the promotional commercial intended for the Italian and international market, the idea was to take a popular song and modify the words to adapt it to the story of the characters from the Kinder world. Initially, the musical jingles were made based on a nursery rhyme that was very famous throughout the world, the song "For he's a jolly good fellow", known in Italy by the title "Perché è un bravo ragazzo"; but later songs such as "Il ballo del qua qua" (in turn an Italian adaptation of the song "Chicken Dance" by Werner Thomas) and "Papaveri e papere" by Nilla Pizzi were taken.
