This plane has the most polarized dichotomy of perception probably in the whole history of military aircraft, because it makes a perfect case for the idea that “it’s not about the size, it’s how you use it.” There have been plenty of aircraft in history that were loved by the people who made them and less so by some of the ones who didn’t; but it’s much more rare for the opposite to be true, and this video covers probably the most extreme of those rare cases: the P-39.
