Yellow Indonesian Rice

Hi guys! Today were are making one of our favorite Indonesian dishes: Yellow Indonesian Rice. It's called nasi kuning in Indonesian. You can dress it up as I did in this video for a special occasion like a birthday. Hope you enjoy! Please subscribe to my channel if you haven't already! keepsm:)ing! Indonesian Yellow Rice "Nasi Kuning" Ingredients: 1 cup white rice 1 tsp turmeric powder 1 Tbs lemongrass 1 Key lime 1/4 tsp salt 1/4 tsp sugar 1/2 cup coconut cream: https://amzn.to/2DDBbq5 1 cup water 1/2 inch fresh ginger root 1 shallot Instructions: 1. Rinse rice and set aside. 2. Add water to steamer and begin boiling the water. 3. Peel and dice shallot and ginger together then puree in 1 cup of water. Strain to remove all large chunks. 4. Squeeze juice from lime then remove seeds. 5. In a small pot on low heat add coconut cream, water and puree from ginger and shallot. 6. Add turmeric, salt, sugar, and lime juice.  7. Turn heat up and continue stirring until consistent. 8. Add rice and stir until the moisture has been absorbed. 9. Place in steamer and steam for 10 minutes. Taste and steam a few minutes longer if rice is still hard. 10. Garnish is desired with cucumbers, tomatoes and eggs. 11.
