Scrooge at the start of A Christmas Carol: key quotations and what to say
How does #dickens present #scrooge at the start of A Christmas Carol? My aim here is to include things that could be able to be used in any #essay about Scrooge. I use technical vocabulary and techniques that will help you explain what Scrooge is like. I use the #quotations “a squeezing, wrenching, grasping, scraping, clutching, covetous old sinner!” and “secret and self-contained and solitary as an oyster” and show you how to explain them, talking about adjectives, lists, present participles, adjectives, similes, characterisation etc… to build a strong essay. There’s a lot in this video, so don’t be afraid of slowing it down, or re-watching it and making something useful from it.
